Understanding the radiance of our hair and eyes:
To determine your pigmentation, look at yourself in the mirror, in a well-lit room and ideally without makeup, and analyze the color of your hair and eyes. Are they dark or light?
Be careful not to automatically associate a color with a tone, since for every color there is a light and a dark shade. For example, brown hair is not automatically classified as dark: there can be light shades of brown, just as blue eyes can be dark.
Knowing your skin pigmentation type:
To determine your undertone, take two pieces of fabric (one gold and one silver) and place them alternately under your face. The one that best suits you will be the one that brightens your complexion. Conversely, if the color doesn't suit you, your imperfections will be accentuated and your skin will appear duller.
This can also be done with silver and gold-colored jewelry. By placing them on your wrist or near your face, you can see which shade best complements your skin tone.
If silver suits you best, you have a cool complexion. If it's gold, you look wonderful; your complexion is warm.
Match your pigmentation to your season:
First, you should know that colors are classified into categories according to their tone or temperature (warm/cold), their brightness or brilliance (light/dark).
Depending on the chosen hues, a season is associated with you. It's important to know that when thinking about seasons and associating them with a color palette, think of them not in terms of temperature, but rather in terms of the images they evoke. For example, winter brings to mind white snow and blue glaciers, while summer evokes the pastel colors of flowers.
Here are the 4 seasonal profiles:
"WINTER" WOMAN PROFILE: DARK HAIR and COOL COMPLEXION
Summer and winter both have cool tones, which have a bluish base. The winter color palette is composed of cool and contrasting tones.
Often, women who belong to the "winter" season have a pronounced contrast between their hair color (dark) and their complexion (pale).
You are a "winter" woman if you fit these characteristics:
Your hair is dark: black, brown or dark chestnut.
You have brown, blue, green or black eyes, but all are dark.
Your complexion is light (contrast with the hair): porcelain, peach, matte, or very dark, bronze, olive, black skin.
"SUMMER" WOMAN'S PROFILE: PALE HAIR + COOL COMPLEXION
While the "winter" woman has very contrasting hair and skin tone, the "summer" woman has softer hair and skin tones. Women with pale hair and a cool complexion fall into this category.
You are a "summer" woman if you fit these characteristics:
Your hair is pale: it includes the whole range of blondes (platinum, golden, ash) and light brown.
Your eyes are pale: blue, green, grey or light brown.
Your complexion is also pale and light: in shades of pink, peach or beige.
Women who are "winter" and "summer" should favor silver and white jewelry, respectively.
"AUTUMN" WOMAN PROFILE: DARK HAIR and WARM COMPLEXION
Spring and autumn have warm reflections that have a yellowish base.
For autumnal colours, think of woody tones, leaves and spices, while the tones of the spring woman are brighter and more luminous.
You are an "autumn" woman if you fit these characteristics:
Your hair is dark with copper highlights: dark chestnut, golden blonde, dark red, copper highlights, chocolate brown.
Your eyes have warm undertones: brown, green, with golden pigmentation.
Your complexion is more coppery: golden, with a few freckles and tans easily.
The colors that suit her best: warm tones and bright highlights
The colours of "spring" women also have warm hues, but paler, more vibrant, bright and vivid than those of autumn.
Jewelry in shades of gold, copper, and turquoise harmonizes very well with the complexion of women with "autumn" and "spring" skin tones.
If you want to play with color theory, you shouldn't automatically abandon certain colors, but rather choose them for yourself. Here's an example of two yellow dresses, one with cool undertones and the other with warm undertones.
