Handmade jewelry from Quebec

In my workshop in Joliette, in the Lanaudière region, I transform each piece from secondhand eyeglasses that I dismantle piece by piece. The plastic lenses are heat-treated to enhance the material's color. The glasses are sorted, cleaned, shaped, sanded, and assembled. Each piece is lightweight and unique, and may vary slightly from the photo. My jewelry catches the light and changes color depending on its angle. The frames, temples, nose pads, and temple tips are made of metal or plastic. The chains, posts, hooks, sleepers, charms, and findings are all made of stainless steel and are in new condition, as are the gemstones.

Saved from opticians' trash, millions of tons of plastic and metal are thrown away in opticians' waste bins, and yet nobody seems to care. I give this material a second life through upcycling, that is, by transforming it into creations with greater added value.

For an eco-responsible approach, upcycling involves giving a second life to a used product. It's a form of recycling that enhances the value of the original material and whose benefits in terms of durability, ethics, and innovation are widely recognized. The product is transformed and repurposed to create a unique, eco-friendly, and creative gem. Having given it renewed value, a new use, and an original purpose compared to its original one.

By choosing one of my products, you are taking concrete action for the planet.
